When The Manager made the fall/winter schedule I knew I was going to hate it. I went from working less than 30 hours a week to more than 40 and I HATE IT! I’m not making more money, I’m just spending more time away from home and my dogs.
I got a young dog in September with the thought I’d only be working around 25 hours a week, but nooo. I’m gone so much I don’t have the time to bully her into submission like the other dogs. I don’t have time to dress her in funny clothes and laugh at her to tear down her self confidence. She still thinks we’re friends. For those of you who don’t know, Dissing your Dog is a very effective training tool.
All I know is something’s gotta give or I’m going to have to find a new job. I can’t be away from home for this long with so little return.

If you need any help with the WordPress stuff, just give me a holler. I don’t mind helping a noob. 🙂
Thanks, but I’m less a noob and more a boob. 🙂

Wow, humiliation and ridicule as a training tool. I wonder if that’d work in corporate America too?
Hope things get better for you soon, hon. Love the new look, and whattaya know! I can comment again.
(FWIW, it might be me; it’s on EVERY Blogger site I visit, and there are a bunch of ’em. Thanks for doing this. Time to use Windows Live Writer for updating so you can publish to both blogs with minimal pain!)
Oooh! I didn’t think of that! Thanks for the tip.
Yes, I’ve used humiliation and ridicule as a training tool for my animals for as long as I’ve had animals. It’s less effective with cats because as far as they’re concerned your opinion doesn’t matter.
As far as corporate America goes…I think a person has to be smart enough to know they are being ridiculed for it to work.

If you’re not making more money, but you’re working substantially more hours, then no, it’s not really worth it, is it? If you can find another job, I’d probably go for it, if it was me.
In the early fall I thought about a new job, but I figured I would have to work 40 hours somewhere else to earn what I made in 25 hours at the restaurant. I didn’t want to work 40 hours anywhere, but now I am and there is entirely too much time spent staring at walls away from home. If I don’t have customers, I’m not making any money and NO ONE wanders in during the afternoon in the winter. I HATE IT!
