New Computer Part II & Other Stuff

This is my first post from my new-to-me computer.  How do I look?  I know you all look marvelous.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my mini laptop, but the eye strain was getting to be a little much.  My poor old eyes need a big monitor, somewhere around big screen TV size.  So I bought a refurbished CPU from a store in Colorado that I had luck with on a previous purchase.  For less than $150, including overnight shipping, I got a nice, new-to-me CPU that I could plug in to my existing monitor, speakers, keyboard & mouse.  What a deal.

Dog fence update:  My dogs are, in fact, smarter than most people I know.  I cinched up the collars on Monday morning and saw a huge difference.  Within minutes they caught on to the beeping/pain correlation and are no longer escaping the yard.  That I now have to drag Maggie down the hall and shove her out the back door into the yard doesn’t bother me in the least.  Even Otis without a collar has picked up that the fence makes beeping noises followed by yelping noises and he stays about 2 feet back from the fence.

Ahhh…life is good.

A big screen monitor, good one. 8)
Got the dogs sorted, that’s good too. But I’m feeling sorry for Maggie and wasn’t she the worst for wandering?

Maggie was a runner, but she was doing well for quite awhile until I got Halo. Halo is an escape artist (probably why she was at the shelter) and Maggie was following her. Sienna feels that she can do whatever she pleases so she stayed in the yard when it suited her and climbed the fence (tearing it up in the process) when it didn’t.

I feel bad for Mags too. She’s very sensitive, but I found her down by the highway a few days before the fence came in. I would rather have her shocked and terrorized than dead by the road.

You look mahvelous! Glad the fence is working. Maybe after a while they’d even stay in without the collars.

I made some more repairs to the physical fence today. In the cold. I hope they stop needing the collars since I have mixed emotions about shocking my dogs.

AWESOME on both counts! Cheap new-to-me CPUs rock. And so do smart dogs who get it, and don’t need 4-6 weeks of training! Woo!

I love cheap computers. The last one worked well for 2 years and the crash was my fault. If this one works for 2 years I’ll be satisfied.

O_O Can you see me now? LOL Good for you! I know I much prefer the larger monitor too. And I do have an add-on for Firefox that makes web sites bigger too so you don’t have to hit the ctrl+ all the time, if you’re ever interested.

Of course you have an add-on. 🙂 I didn’t know about the ctrl+ thing. Shows how far behind I am.

And cool for the dogs! Sounds like it couldn’t be going any better! That’s great news! 🙂

    Can you see me smiling?
