A Day Off

Al-Quieda:  Hello Glory, how are you today?

Me:  I’m good.  How was your day off?

AQ:  It was good.

Me:  Was it restful?

AQ:  No, not really.

He could have thrown that instead of tongs.

Me:  Well, did you at least rest your throwing arm…ice it down and all that?

AQ:  (laughing)  No, no I didn’t.

Me:  We can’t have our star player out with a throwing injury.  You need to take care of yourself.

AQ:  I’m going to throw you.

    Again, I think I really like Al-Quieda!

It’s hard not to like him. He’s supremely professional, calm, mild mannered, funny and smart with a deep, well modulated voice, a great smile, and he’s very easy on the eyes. There are some people who are hell to work with, but great at a party and there are people who are great to work with, but you’d never want to see them outside of work. Al-Quieda is great to work with and fun outside of work.

Why is he nicknamed that? And does he actually go by that or is that your name for him?

He is some mix of Middle Eastern descent, born and raised in California and Al-Quieda is the nickname Sunni’s friends gave him. I’ve just rolled with it. The first time I hung out with him outside of work was for Game Night and when he arrived Sunni’s friends yelled, “Al-Quieda! You know we got bin Laden, right?” He’s really good natured and thinks it’s funny. I don’t call him Al-Quieda other than on the blog…I have different nicknames for him. 😉

Damn. That idiot must be really hard to work with if he got a guy like al-quieda mad enough to throw things at him.

    He just doesn’t pay attention.
